a tribute to morel derfler, 1956-2001

i was deeply touched by a post on a photography forum i often visit. sakis meir posted a request for fellow photographers to join him in remembering a gifted photographer who’s life’s work, and life for that matter, tragically ended on september 9th 2001.

sakis’s post triggered interest and evolved into a project initiated yesterday, exactly five years to the day of morel’s death. photographers from all over the country will take part  in a unique tribute to morel derfler over the coming weeks, among them, arena, morel’s daughter.

even art is nurtured by terror in this country of contradictions…
